Hinagdanan Cave Tour in Dauis
Hinagdanan Cave is famous not only for its breathtaking natural beauty but also for its historical significance.
During World War II, locals used it as a hideout to escape from the Japanese Imperial Army. The cave features a naturally lit cavern with a deep lagoon, surrounded by impressive stalactites and stalagmites.
Sunlight filters through holes in the ceiling, creating a magical ambiance. The underground lake is a popular spot for swimming.
The landowner accidentally discovered the cave while clearing decaying branches. He threw a stone into a hole and heard a splash. Intrigued, he built a ladder to enter the cave, hence the name “Hinagdanan,” which means “laddered” in the local language.
