Made a booking after-hours one night for the early start the next morning, booked and paid for the snorkeling with sardines experience and paid the extra to get the tuktuk ride transfers to accom at Alona Beach. Sent a message via WhatsApp to alert them to the overnight sale as well.
By 0745 or so the next morning they had messaged me with details of the tour and we worked out a pick up time at our hotel. I also got a message replied from the original WhatsApp I had sent too.
Picked up on time in a tuktuk that was clean modern and comfortable (yes they exist!) and swiftly taken to the dive centre for equipment and related prep. (The centre looks great and full of good energy and large dive training pool and what appears to beto be log cabins). Staff were all friendly and met our guides there who then took us about 5 min ride down to the reef site which is a large organised area with many groups, covered seats and a couple of food outlets. We were there for the snorkeling so just got in the water (easily accessible via concrete stairs/ platform area) and had the wonderful swim. (We were offered life vests etc etc but didn’t need them. I was glad we went forced to wear them like other experiences in SE Asia). We were happy to float and swim around and were left to do our thing whilst the guides did the go-pro photos and video. There’s a roped off section so it’s safe, but also the guides are there anyway. One on one. The fish were great - the sardines - and a few other tropical fish too, a fun and a memorable experience. When we were finished we were driven back to the centre and had quick shower (towel provided) and got the photos downloaded direct to our phone. The whole experience was great, customer service, friendly guides and staff, nice atmosphere, decent equipment, although it’s a dive centre we were treated great albeit we were snorkelling not diving.
Great experience all round and would highly recommend.
