Freediving & Photo Tour at the South Palms Plane Wreck
Discover one of the popular freediving gems of Panglao, Bohol. With about 6 to 8 meters in depth, the airplane wreck is very accessible even for beginner freedivers. The easy accessibility, the shallow depth and vibrant colours result in the most amazing photos and videos imaginable.
We will meet up at the Freedive Academy. We’ll get you into your freediving gear and bring you to the location. Here are two options;
We swim all together with buoys and floats from the beach at South Palms resort which is about a 10-minute swim.
The other option is via awaiting Banca (Philippine native boat) close to the plane wreck, which will bring you directly to the wreck and dive spot. This is the more expensive option but offers a nice ride and resting point for those looking to take a break from diving and photos.
Our accredited dive guides are very experienced freedivers themselves and will coach you on the best way to dive for the photos and videos.
This 2-hour freediving tour will be one to remember. After the tour, you will enjoy your free (non-alcoholic) drink at the amazing South Palms Resort, which is, with its white beach and palm trees, also a breathtaking photo opportunity.
After the drink and some relaxation, you’ll be brought back to the Freedive Academy for showers, changing attire, and passing over the GoPro photos and videos.

Freediving in Panglao, Bohol, is an experience like no other. To make the most of your freediving expedition to Panglao, it is essential to obtain high-quality equipment that can withstand the depths of the sea and provide a comfortable freediving experience. Renting proper freediving gear ensures that you have all the necessary tools to explore this breathtaking underwater world safely and enjoy.
When renting the freediving equipment, you can choose from low-volume masks, snorkels, plastic and carbon freediving fins, weights and weightbelts. We also rent out GoPros and Suunto d4 dive computers. All our equipment is of excellent quality, well-maintained and professionally cleaned after each use.
Please note that we don’t rent out buoys and dive lines. For one, there is a liability issue, and two, the anchor lines around Napaling and Panglao are approved by the Panglao municipality and licensed by the different dive centers. They are only used by the dive centers themselves.
Rental prices are per day or 24 hours, and the equipment can be used all over the province of Bohol. Pickup is at Napaling Adventure Center or the Freedive Academy because of the sizes and fitting of gear. If you want us to collect the equipment, please drop them off at your resort’s reception or hotel and call us. We will deduct ₱500 from the deposit. If the equipment is in good order and not damaged, we can refund you the deposit via Gcash, Bank Transfer or Paypal.

Who doesn’t want to swim with these gentle giants?!
In the small coastal town of Lila in the South of Bohol, it is now possible to do whale shark watching, and it’s tremendously popular. It is also quite controversial because whale sharks only migrate along Lila and Bohol and don’t naturally gather in Lila. The Lila whale sharks are hand-fed, guaranteeing they will show up to excite guests, who can snap close-range photos – the feeding only happens in the morning.
Tourists have to attend on arrival a short mandatory briefing on how to behave around the whale sharks.
Rules are strict, no touching, no riding, no flash photography, and keep at least six feet (1,5 meters) away from the whale sharks at all times.
